The Autism team at Balance is a unique non-for-profit service which provides practical support to adults in Kingston with a diagnosis of high functioning Autism.
Balance CIC is a local social enterprise supporting vulnerable people in South-West London. We provide a wide range of progressive services, all focused on helping people to live rich and full lives. We are committed to promoting independence and empowerment for those we support, and to supporting and rewarding our hard-working and passionate staff team.
Balance’s Autism Spectrum Team has two new exciting positions available within our small innovate team. We are looking for a dedicated and caring individual to work with our clients on a 1:1 basis in a person-centred way.
Your role will support clients to:
- engage with the community and develop strong social networks
- understand their diagnosis
- manage any additional mental health issues
- find and sustain paid and unpaid employment or educational placements
- be signposted to other services or refer them to adult services for care assessments
- understand and complete benefit applications
- apply for housing and deal with any housing issues
This role requires specialist knowledge and experience of working with individuals with Autism and also associated mental health issues.
The hours can be worked flexibly in accordance with the needs of the clients and offers the right candidate an opportunity to manage their own diary. Therefore, excellent organisational skills and self-motivation are essential alongside a positive and empathetic nature.
Salary is £12,670 per annum.
