Balance Apprenticeship Scheme

The Apprenticeship Scheme commenced at Balance in November 2014 with its first apprentice. The apprentice started working in our residential care home for adults with learning disabilities, Woodbury.

The Apprenticeship Scheme is an opportunity for local young people to gain a real qualification in Social Care. Adult Social Care qualifications have been developed by Skills For Care in partnership with employees and awarding organisations to meet the needs of Apprentices who will be offered a comprehensive training package, that underpins the excellent practice at Woodbury.

Balance plans to roll out the apprenticeship scheme across all Balance Services in due course. We view the Apprenticeship scheme a critical part of Balance’s growth strategy, improve retention and recruitment, and grow and develop our own skilled workforce.
